Last month I had a cold, and it turned into bronchitis, and then "costochondritis." That went away. A few weeks later, I have a sinus infection! Yuck. Anyone that can relate? Any suggestions would help!

I suffered enough sinus infections that scarring had taken over. I had sinus surgery to remove the scar tissue and repair a deviated septum, which was adding to the continual infection. I have 90% less headaches, infections etc. It has been the one best thing I have done for myself. To aide you, you can wet a washcloth and place it in the microwave. Nuke for 2-3 minutes, it will be super hot! Get another dish cloth and lay down on your back, place the cloth on your face, place the nuked cloth on top of that. You will feel instant relief, sinuses will open and drain. Also rub your temples while you are resting. Another place to massage is in the back of the head where the head and the neck connect. If you press there with a couple fingers, massage, and you should feel the muscles relaxing if you are in the right spot. You need to fully get rid of the infection, if it becomes chronic you will continually suffer with these problems. Good luck.

I had lots of colds and sinus problems..then after having a deviated septum fixed I didn't have them anymore. But occasionally when the allergies kick up..allegra 180mg...and flonaise help a great deal(.A deviated septum is where the bone in your nose gets shifted from either breaking or being bumped real hard. It causes your sinuses to drain improperly which could cause bronchitis etc.)

i am just getting over my first every sinus infection so i do have sympathy for you right now.
i didnt got to the dr but i did go to the pharmacy and was given some sinus tablets and eye drops as my eyes got pretty infected and gooey.
i still cant hear properly out of left ear and it feels like im echoing inside my head when i talk. its very frustrating but im slowly recovering after two weeks of feeling this way.
i was told yesterday by a professional health worker that using juice of an onion with a syringe into your ears will help releive some of the problems. also putting some saline water up your nose will also unblock the congestion. she also suggested going to a health shop as they have other organic pills that help sinus sufferers.
because of where i live seeing a dr is not always easy to do but i would recommend you seeing a dr if it gets too bad and you cant handle it anymore.
good luck and like i said i kinda know how you feel.

Yes I had it, not anymore and I have seasonal allergies. Great. I did a lot of things but let me first ask you, did you had antibiotics? If so you need to take a lot af acidophilus and or kefir to regain the good bacteria in your guts. Otherwise you will be soon more vulnerable for infections. I just developed a "sinus opener" remedy with cayenne and eucalyptus, and oher natural things. Send me an email if you need some. For other tips see source.

I have suffered from quite a few and have learned that as soon as you feel any pressure in your head take something. I use Tylenol cold and sinus also steam works as well. It works wonders for me. Also got to the Dr and take an allergy test to see what you are allergic to. That way you can stay clear of those things that brings it on.

Me, ouch. Try drinking Bloody Mary's (non alcoholic), you can buy them where they sell the booze in the supermarkets. It's basically tomato juice, hot sauce, and garlic. The hot sauce causes your sinuses to run, freeing the blockage, and the garlic kills infections. You can heat it up for about a minute in the microwave if you like. On the really bad sinus days when the drink doesn't work I eat Jalapeno peppers, it's tough, but not as hard as suffering with a headache. Chow.

My doctor suggested using a bulb syringe (like they use to suck babies noses) to squirt a solution of salt water up my nose. It also helps with congestion when you have a cold because the salt in the water sucks out extra fluid in your sinus which causes the congestion. The stronger the salt to water ratio, the better it works. Hope that helps.
