She doesn't seem to understand why it never lasts for more than a couple weeks. She always tells these guys that they can be friends with benefits, but she flips out when they date someone else. She seems otherwise intelligent, but she cries about these guys for days afterward. She is divorced and has a young son. Why does she act so crazy, and what could motivate her to stop this nonsense?

Just to be clear, these guys are between 18-20. She has been divorced for over 5 years.

Your friend will most likely not stop dating younger guys until she meets someone her own age that makes her feel attractive. Most women that do this does not realize that just because a guy sleeps with it does not mean they find her attractive.....as the joke goes it only has one eye. And it could also be that she is picking these guys because deep down she knows it won't last as she does not want it to. After a divorce, she may be afraid of a real relationship, although it hurts when it doesn't work. It sounds like she wants a relationship and doesn't at the same time. She needs to seek help before it becomes a way of life.
