Depression is this constant feeling of hopelessnes, sometimes for no reason at all. You lose interest in things you used to enjoy, you start to isolate yourself from people-like going out to social events, you become irritable, you feel alone, even when you are not, and you don't feel like talking to anyone. You can also begin to lose your appetite or begin binge eating and it is hard to concentrate on things or be positive. Those are all the symptoms I can think of and they need to last for a few months before being considered depression that is a mental condition and not just the result of something bad happening in your life. I hope that helps. If you have anymore questions, you can email me. K? :)

Hi! I am 49 year old and a woman, i feel like I can't remember the last tome my life didn't feel like it was on a roller coaster. Most of the time when i wake up in the morning, instead of thanking God for a new day and a new chance, I find myself being mad at him for allowing me to wake up. I know that everyone out there has their own horror stories to tell. Some worse than others. i grew up durning a time when drugs were not sold on street corners, but they were still available. I will not say that the only reason I tried drugs, was to escape the pain. i did it because at that time, i enjoyed experimenting. that carried over into other things that I allowed to happen while i was on drugs. these things repeat themselves over and over again in my head and i have tried to take the " easy " way out many times. in fact, i think about it at least once a day. I don't know why, don't ask me to explain. It is what it is...
