I'm sure you all know you can pay with a credit or debit card without having to go inside the gas station. I heard there are security risks doing that. I heard somebody can stick an instrument in the slot where you put the card in, and that instrument can charge a lot of money on your card. Is this true? Is there anything to look for when you pay outside at the gas station to avoid this?

The device that they use reads the magnetic strip on your card. It could be done on an ATM also. To do this at a gas station, they would have to have somebody on the "inside" that can gain access to the crind CPU that the card swipe is connected to.

So, it is correct that this can happen... However, you have a better chance of someone pulling a gun on you and taking your wallet while at the gas pump...

Yes, that can happen but you can do something about it... Make sure you exit out of the whole thing on the screen and bring it back to the original screen before you leave, right after your done pumping, and make sure you get the receipt, you dont have to keep it though
