I've tried running the knife under cold water, it does not work.

keeping them in the fridge works but if you put them in the freezer for a few minutes before choping it works even better no tears at all

The quicker you learn to chop an onion, the less you will be exposed to the oxidized sulphur that is it's defence mechanism. You can't possible chop anything quickly if you've got it under water.

try running the onion under cold water and then chop it up.

Actually I recently found out if you burn a candle near the cutting area it helps. It burns off whatever the onion has that makes you cry. It works for me. Good Luck

My mom says if u cry when u chop onions ,your mom-in law will like u . Lol .

If you will refrigerate your onions, you won't be crying your eyes out!!! Try it, it works! I always do this and never have the problem anymore.

u only cry if the onion is room temp. keeo yr onions in the fridge and u wont cry!! lol

if you store onions in the frig they wont make you cry .also dont cut he root end that where all the strong smell is

I find that if I am wearing my contact lenses I will not cry. When I where my glasses I do. I think the contacts must block the pores in your eyes or something.
