am a 16yo male with EXTREMELY fine hair which has absolutely NO shape. Consistently makes me look like a complete tool, especially outdoors in the wind. Just want to know how to give it shape and thickness, if its possible.

You can't. Your best bet is to use thickening shampoo, the least amount of conditioner & might want to consider skipping it or just every other day (the conditioner). Always use a shampoo that is clear, any that aren't will always weigh your hair down no matter what the bottles propaganda says & definitely keep your hair short & layered. Get used to using light amounts of gel on your roots & hairspray. Too much gel will weigh you down. Your only using the gel for control & volume. The hairspray is for keeping your hair from too much damage in the wind. Though, don't get crazy with the hairspray... helmet head will be the result.

Good brands to try for shampoo, conditioner, gel & hair spray.

Nioxin - shampoo & conditioner
Loreal vive - " & "
Matrix --> great gel in the amplify line
aveda --> new mud line is supposed to add tons of volume & bulk

Rave level 4 hairspray --> little bit does the job
freeze it hairspray

Though, the #1 thing you can do is get an awesome haircut from a stylist who knows how to make the most of fine hair. If you have a bad cut for fine hair, there's almost nothing that can help it.

Well , if your hair is extremely fine because of hereditary reasons, then the only option you have is to make it look thicker. I am strongly against using products on your hair. Since they will degrade your hair further wil long term use. I'll tell you one harmless solution though its temporary . It should work. Before going to bed , Tie your hair into a bun on top of head(i.e your crown area) . not too tight, loose enough for your scalp to breathe, otherwise you will have to deal with hair loss later on because of too much pulling. In the morning when you let down your hair, you will get an illusion of volume. Please , DONT USE HEAT on your hair. it will only make it weaker and brittle. Otherwise, my advice is, Stop coloring your hair if you do. Dont use chemical shampoos or conditioners too often. I have noticed that conditioners make hair very fine. You rather just shampoo it and if conditioning is a must, use natural options, like curd, egg, etc. you will find tons of options if you google it . Besides, massage your hair with a combination of castor oil, olive oil , coconut or almond oil (or both) , luke warm right onto your scalp. Keep it for an hour at least (better yet overnight). Then rinse it off. Doing this will ensure that the new hair you grow will be thicker . Stop using chemicals on your hair. Go the natural way. You can also give illusion of volume by layer cutting your hair and give soft curls (WITHOUT HEAT ). And above all, Dont worry. Accept your hair the way it is. Otherwise it will cause you disappointment and more stress which will lead to hair fall and that is going to be a big headache.

A product line called Nioxin but it's pretty expensive but well worth it. If you're looking for something cheaper looks for products that increase volume or thicken like pantene but pretty much any product that has biotin with thicken and strenghthen your hair. Good Luck!
