The US navy could defend Taiwan but China's military has been more modernizing in recent years. In a decade, China will have a nuclear aircraft carrier and a fleet of Su-27s and J-10 fighters. US f-22 raptors will not be in mass production. But the US will need to attack the factories in China to gain an edge plus China has the capability of taking down US satellites needed for reconnaisance. Japan would have a difficulty of supporting US in this war. Also, Taiwan has delayed buying US weaponry. Currently, China is getting Rolls Royce engines from Great Britain (England) even though there is a EU embargo in place. Well, Israel is selling missile technology to China developed from US investment. Who will win in a real war? China vs USA

they would completely annihilate the USA in an all our nuclear Holocaust. That would be the end of the world. They would not be afraid to use nuclear weapons and they don't bluff.

You asked essentially the same question a few weeks ago.

If the US was engaged in an all out war with communist China, China would be shut off from the rest of the world. Militarily speaking the US has them outmatched in all but shear manpower. American fighter pilots are better trained than any in the world and there are more than enough in our navy to take on an air force the size of China's.

As of now China does not have a carrier and their development plans are unclear. It does not look as though they are going to build a super-carrier. Regardless, as long as the Democrats do not have their way we will have no less than 12.

The only tactical edge the Chinese navy may have is its diesel powered submarines. Diesel subs tend to run quieter than nuclear subs because they are totally battery when under water where as nuke subs can't shut down the reactor. The disadvantage with diesel subs is they have to surface to charge the batteries but in a short water campaign it would be less of a handicap.

There is essentially no way that the two nations will go to war. Both have more to loose than gain. Much of the foreign capital in communist China not only comes from the US and its allies but directly from the R.O.C. Any conflict between the nations will be settled diplomatically.

We would tear them a new one.

SU-27s? Big deal. Go check out America's new plane. The F-35 JSF. And also look at our other planes that China won't be able to controlhave. F-18 Raptros, B-2 Bombers (simply amazing planes), F-16, B-1, U-2 Spyplanes, and more...

Plus, we have great navel ships, and subs. We are also working on a missile defense system in the Pacific, as well as an Air Borne Laser.

In a full out balls to the wall nuke war, the USA would turn china into a radioactive pit, on the conventional front, the US Navy would rule the sea and air space around the sea, the US Air Force would control the land airspace, in a land conflict, man per man china has like a 100 to 1 advantage, but again the USA would use massive artillery, air and missile strikes to kill 10's of thousands of the red horde.......either scenario, the USA would win in an all out war

Nobody would win an all out war between China & USA. It would go nuclear very quickly.

Get this facts will you?. We cannot even come up with a convincing win over Iraq. The Iraq war is already four years, but American troops are still stuck in that quagmire, with no clear indication on how it will end.

Iraq is just a tiny size compared to China. So now, can you imagine the outcome of having a war with China?.

I think the UN would step in to help Taiwan on that one, But the U.S. has been in a combat enviroment the past 5 years and has that experience on the battle field. It would be really close, but we would probably push them out of taiwan.

WAL MART WOULD DIE...........and if it was a real war, I think we would destroy each other. I honestly believe it would take everything each nation had to win and at the end all that would be left of the victor is rubble.

The U.S. would quickly get air and naval superiority. The Chinese would attack South Korea through North Korea and do anything they could to draw us into a land war. We would probably have to use tactical nukes to stop them.
