Are you referencing the padded mits, kind of like a small padded baseball mitt?

They are very useful for an instructor who is teaching his students focus.

Either I do not understand what you are asking or you cannot use focus gloves for your own personal training alone.

You need another person to wear them.

Handheld focus pads are easier on the instructor's hands and the instructor is not as likely to be kicked when using them. He can hold them farther away from his body.

Depends on what you want/expect to gain out of them.

They are good for a non-contact cardio workout for fitness but as a training tool? You don't really need them.

Nothing beats SAFELY sparring different body types in order to develop timing, accuracy, cardio, and all other attributes.
