There reason is obvious; there can be no political solution without first having security. The extra troops are needed in order to help the Iraqi military and police clear and hold areas currently controlled by both the Shi'ia militias and the Sunni insurgents. Once a semblance of security has been obtained, the Iraqi politicians can resume their work, and that will ultimately lead to a U.S. withdrawal. The elements of al-Qaeda in the Al Anbar province also need to be severely dealt with, and a portion of these new troops will be able to aid the Iraqis in that mission as well. I think we should all give General Petraeus a shot at getting this thing done.

He is the Commander in Chief of the military. He does listen to others. Despite popular opinion, not everyone is against trying to find ways to win this war.

There Is more going on then you may think, there is a secret war that involves Economics of other country's of events that are happening in the World.

When the World Trade Center was Destroyed it also Destroyed economic development, In America. OPEC,Iran,Hugo Chávez,Syria for some reason are playing the Robin Hoods to rob from the Middle class targeting the pockets of Americans by Oil Prices going up by the barrel.OPEC,Iran,Hugo Chávez,Syria even others are trying too weaken America economy by trying too Increase the value of the Oil so that Americas Economy can suffer meaning they are trying to stop this war through Economical means.

Bush maybe a Inside joke too some people, but he is a Smart *** that can be overly secretive and sneaky as a Snake, From what I understand he is trying too hold out while he still can on this war.

All decisions are taken collectively and Mr. Bush alone is not responsible for war. These people have very close understanding of the issue. In political decisions results may not be as expected. The additional force is being sent to stabilize Iraq so that American forces are withdrawn before the next President took charge of his post. Obviously his dream to see a democratic Iraq has been shattered by groups who are trying to settle their own score. They are responsible for delay in withdrawal of foreign troops.

"Bush Isn't Listening To Others?"

you make it sound like your belief is the only one, he IS listening to others as long as there are others that believe in sending more troops

He just wants to be seen like he's trying to do something. But the truth is this war was lost before we even went over there. Did we not learn anything from the crusades? Those lasted for decades and we only ever truly held Jerusalem for a short period of time.

We lost those wars. Its hard to fight someone over their religous belief.

He has a god complex. Even Jesus couldn't stop the fighting in the middle east when he was on earth. Rome slaughter the Jews and the Christians fought with the muslims, crusades.

Because he is the President of the United States...and he knows more about what is going on over there...more so than your everyday Joe. That's what gets me! Everybody has an opinion about it.....but don't you think he is privy to more information than we are allowed to have as little people.

because he's bullheaded and doesn't want to admit he's wrong for getting involved in the first place.
