Like you, my doctors and traditional medications and treatments did not help me at all.. I never seemed to have good days- only bad days or worse days. Well, I am still sick, but I am seeing hope in one thing- and that is changes in my diet. I started drinking Ensure vitamin drinks, one a day, and almost immedietly I noticed changes in my energy levels, depression and "brain fog"- i also take magnesium, eat bananas for potassium, and try to eat a lot of veggies and fruits and avoid breads and wheats. I read once that people with fibro should have a diet that 50 percent of it consists of veggies....and for some reason, things like brocilli, asparagus, carrots- etc, really Do seem to help.
I'm skeptical of anything, so i really didn't believe changing my diet would help, when major pain pills and things didn't, but i swear that it does help me.
other things that i've had SOME relief with- lots of rest, lowering your stress level, trying to stay calm about things, staying out of extremes of either temperature, and yoga. I feel worse after ANY exercise, so i don't exercise. i use walking and yoga for exercise.
also, a big part of it is the alienation, doubt, and depression we feel for so many reasons, so please try to find an online support group or one in your town if there is one....even better if you can find one or two close friends who have it and know what you are dealing with.
as for the memory loss- that's one thing that has never gotten better for me, so i've learned just to carry lists with me everywhere. i joke around and say i have lists of lists, but i really do. instead of getting frustrated, just carry a notebook around with you and make notes to yourself all day about things you want to remember to buy, look up, do, etc. then you can just cross things off. i write down EVERYTHINg. and keep your notebook in the same place or with you- so you won';t forget where you put it- which has also happened to me, so i just carry it with me literally all the time.
i really hope this helps and you can at least get to a tolerable level. have faith that things will change.

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia after a car accident. Personally I notice my symptoms are worse if I am stressed out. I make it a habit to practice daily meditation and stretching. Breathing and stretching are both very important because it gets oxygen to the affected pressure points. I also massage my pressure points.....somedays constantly. I also drink lots of water and take daily walks.
Dr's can't help....they can only manage the pain. I have found more success in what I have been doing. I never liked pain medicine. My accident was 3 years ago and I manage just fine. It took awhile, but I try not to think about it and just do what I have to do to feel better..

I was diagnosed 5 years ago. I gave up on conventional medicine two years ago. I have switched my diet to ALL organic. Since I have done this my day to day symtoms have abated to a tolerable level. I am not saying that it is a magic bullet but it has worked for me and two of my friends. You don't have to change the way you eat just what you eat. Organic is about 7% more expensive than conventional food but well worth it. My memory is much better. I still have foot and leg pain but not bad enough to keep me from walking about 1/2 mile a day. Before the organic diet I had trouble making it to my mail box.

Hi,One of the signs of enzyme deficiency is Fibromyalgia. The problem may be that you are not able to digest the food you are eating.Every natural food contains enzymes, cooking destroys enzymes and for some reason your body is not able to use it for energy. All cooked and processed food has no enzymes, assuming your body is not able to produce enzymes that makes the food useless. That could be one of the problems. You should look at a natural product called PhytoBioForte Super. You can find it at www.4health411.com
