I have trouble sleeping at night. My body has a weird tendency to sleep only when everyone else goes to bed. It generally takes me an hour through two hours to fall asleep. I wake up in the middle of the night. Sometimes I wake up with headaches and chest pain. I change body positions a lot before falling asleep.

Trouble sleeping at night is a common problem. There always seems to be a ton of suggestions and it's hard knowing what works, but you have to find what works for you. Here are some of the ones I know of and have tried.

First of all, you want to get on a sleeping schedule and try to get 7-8 hours of sleep a night. I know that it's difficult and it sounds silly, but when I'm able to get on a sleep schedule during school, I realize that I sleep a lot better. About an hour before falling asleep try to cut off your computer time and even tv time. The computer and television actually stimulate your mind, which probably makes it difficult for you to settle your mind down.

If you like bananas, they are actually suppose to help induce sleep, which might be something to consider. Meditation is a great way to relax the body in mind. If you get in a comfortable position, and try to completely clear your mind. Focus on your breathing by deep slow breaths, counting them. Or calming music for you to focus on the words to will be helpful. The goal is to relax the body and keep the mind from thinking about the stresses of your life.

If you can practice meditation during some free time, you'll find that you'll get better at it and hopefully it will help you to sleep.

Over the counter sleep aids might be useful as well, something like Tylenol PM.

I really hope that you find a solution to your sleeping problem. Take care.

I'm a lot llike you, I wake up all the time. I've tried everything under the sun (Tea, Warm Milk, Music, etc). What I do now is make the bedroom really cold, and I have a fan on. I sleep almost through the whole night, or like a Rock.
Most people sleep really well when it rains.

The best option I can give, is to keep trying new things.

I have trouble sleeping when anyone else in the house is still awake, too.
It helps me to have a fan running for white noise and to read until I get sleepy.
I don't know about the chest pains. Maybe you should talk to a dr.

Try listening to soft music of the nature like: birds chirping, rain or even the ocean it helps relax the mind and may even help you fall asleep. But for the pain you should see a dr

I got the same problem. I don't know if music helps you or not, but when I listen to music I get pumped up and more awake so I can't do that. I usually just relaxe and think deeply, and eventually I'll doze off.

You have too much caffiene in your system. Stop drinking sodas and teas and coffee, and have a little warm milk 30 minutes before bedtime.
