To keep the peace. He doesn't want her to rock the boat when it comes to his child. The fact that he treat wife #2 like garbage is horrible. He needs to get a backbone. If wife #2 puts up with this for more than a year, she needs to get some counseling. Good luck.

If he doesn't let her have her way, she may withhold his child from him. My brother had a girlfriend who did that to him. Although he had visitation rights, if she was mad at him, she would say, "No, you can't see him today. We're busy."
Sit down with your husband and tell him how you feel. Tell him that if he doesn't already have custody or visitation rights, he needs to apply for them. If he already has them and the ex-wife doesn't honor them, then he needs to take her to court.
Also, since this is a sticky situation and involves a child, I would consider going to a counselor.

Because he's afraid that if he stands up to her she will make life between him and his child HELL! It took my man 7 yrs to do it! We then went through 2 more yrs of hell and now, finally! on the 10th yr together, we are gettin married and she finally realized after 10 yrs. I ain't goin anywhere! We are finally working as a TEAM!!
