Be casual about it. Say I have this valentines dance at "whereever" and I was wondering if you'd like to go as friends or whatever. You got a good chance of him saying yes. Youll never know though if you dont try.

Girls, for crying out loud! Most of the boys are just waiting for someone to ask them. They don't ask because 1) they don't want to be rejected, 2), they don't "know" how to dance and don't want to look stupid, 3) don't have the money that they think the night will cost, 4) they don't want you to think they're your boyfriend just cause they went to a dance with you, 5) they want to be your boyfriend, but they are afraid you just want to go to the dance, 6) they are worried that they aren't as ready for sex as all the talk makes them think they should be, 7) they don't want to be embarrassed by their/your parents, 8) they don't know what to wear or don't have the clothes they think they need to wear, 9) they don't want to go to the dance, and 10) they don't want to go with you.

So, I'm sure I missed any number of reasons, but the bottom line is that you just need to talk with the boy and see how he feels and let him know that he can tell you why he doesn't want to go even if its because he doesn't want to go with you. Maybe he'll say yes, and if not, and he offers a reason, maybe there's a solution like telling him you'll show him how to dance before the dance, etc.

Guys are always more willing to go to dances if they are going with friends, so if you can arrange a double date with him your odds of yes are better.

Just talk to him and see what's up. Good luck!

Why not to up to him, tap him on the shoulder and say "may I have the first dance at the Valentine Day Dance."

Well, in my school, our Valentines dance is a "Star Studded Dance" where we have to dress up like celebrities. If I wanted to be, say, Sandy from Grease, and I wanted him to be Danny, I could say to him "Hey, so and so, I am being blah blah blah, and I think it would be really cool if you went as blah blah with me." If you don't have a Celebrity one, just ask him! Say "Hey, asdf, do you want to come to the dance with me?" I know it sounds corny, but it's the only way to do it!!!

Just walk right up. And if he doesn*t know your name tell him

"hi, I*m Jane Doe and I think you go to my church"

OR

just walk right up, start talking about sunday school or the sermon then casually drop the v-day dance into conversation. and don*t forget to ask if he has a date. or is planning on going.

FYI: If he says he isn*t planning on going that IS NOT a no :P

Open up your mouth and engage your vocal chords and say "Would you like to accompany me to the Valentine Dance"

if you dont know him very well it might be less ackward if you email him or ask him on AIM (if you and he have sns). aim makes everything so much easier because you dont have to talk to the person face, and if it goes bad when you see him in person you can just pretend like it wasnt you and someone was on your sn. lol. but thats kinda wussyish but it works lol. ummm if you dont wanna do that you should just go to him and start a conversation. just say like "so do you know if your going to the valentines dance? and if he says yes, then you can be like cool who are you going with? or mabey he will say.... well id like to but i dont have a date yet. then you have a perfect chance to be like... do you wan to go with me?

Ask him.

Just go up to him nonchalantly sometime and see what hes doing for the dance, and if he has a date, and if he says no, just ask if he'd like to go with you, becasue you have no one to go with either.

Even if he says no, you'll be glad you asked. Promise

i think you probably shuldn't ask him to the dance...unless required....remember usually @ dances you want to hang with ur friends and being with one person can be a drag.....but definately ask him to dance!!
