I have two best friends, and I want them both to be my maid of honor. Would it be wierd to have them both? And how would I accommodate them?

Hey Princess Fiona :)...well i dont't know much about this topic...but let me tell you something...you usually get married just once...it is one of the most important day in your life...you want all the important people in your life with you...so go ahead have 2 or 3 if u please maid of honor. if it seems wierd to others, hey they are not getting married right. it is YOUR wedding, do whatever you feel like. trust me this day dosen't come again. have fun...and yeah congratulations and may God give you and your future husband all the happiness :)...GuruBhai.

No it isn't weird at all. I am also having a maid of honor and a matron of honor. I have two sisters that I am very close with and I could not imagine choosing between them. I'm having my sisters split the duties of the maid of honor, and I think it will be easier on them since they get to share all of the hassels of being the MH as well. I hope that helps.

It would be perfectly fine to have two! In fact it may make it easier as they can share the responsibility.

At my wedding, there was a best man & and an honorary best man and one other groomsman. I was going to do the same with the bridesmaids, but my MOH was unable to travel due to a complicated pregnancy.

You would have them stand with you, just as you would otherwise and list them both in the program as the maid of honor or co-maids of honor.

I hear you! I have 3 best friends who I would want as Matron of Honor, all are married and I was in the one's wedding as Maid of Honor. I think I will have to Matron's, and pick by names out of a hat or something, it is hard because they are all such good friends. I don't think in your situation it is weird to have two, if you can't choose you can't choose. Three seems a bit much for me but I have time to work that out. Good luck.

My brother had 2 best men and 2 maids of honor(brides side). It wasn't wierd at all. In fact, this has been done many times already. I have been to a lot of weddings, funerals, and church-social functions, so I've seen that many times.

I think it is great that you have TWO best friends, and can't choose between them! Friends make our lives richer. Definitely have them both as your maids of honor. How to accomodate them would depend on your ceremony, I'm sure you can find a way if you put your heads together. Ask them for suggestions. Congratulations on your wedding, and on having good friends.

It's not weird. It's your wedding, do what makes you happy. My husband had 2 best men and I only had 1 maid of honor. You'll still have to choose who walks right in front of you and holds your flowers and ring, but you can list them both as maids in the program.

I am going to have 2 maids of honor for my wedding in October. I have 2 sisters who happen to be my best friends.

What I am doing is one is my maid of honor for the ceremony - she will hold my flowers and my ring and fluff my train.
The other will be my maid of honor for the reception - she will sit next to me during dinner and give the toast because she likes speaking in public.

I think that it will only make your day even more special because you will have the people closest to you supporting you and trying to make you as happy as possible.

No, I'm having a maid of honor, matron of honor. The bride should be happy right? I read one time about wedding etiquette in Ann Landers, that as long as the bride has her day, she should be happy and enjoy her wedding day with her groom.

yes it is weird and tacky in my opnion...i dont care what everyone else says. your maid of honor is the woman who stands next to you at your wedding...if you have two...well three is a crowd. who gives the toast? Either have 1 or make everyone a bridesmaid and dont have a maid of honor.

That being said...its your wedding, you can do whatever you want.
