having this cold for a few days now. The worst part is I have been coughing so bad--I haven't had a good night sleep at all. Do you guys know any good cough meds out there? and anything else I can do to get rid of this symptom.

well, one of the most strongest cough syrup i've tried is robitussin.

I had this a couple of weeks ago. I waited too long to go to the Dr. and it turned into pneumonia. But the best over the counter medicine that I found is Mucinex with the cough suppressant. Be sure to drink plenty of water with it. At night, I would try Nyquil. It helped me sleep through the night without having cough attacks.

The most important thing you can do is to not lay down fully, find a comfortable position partially upright supported by pillows, then the mucus will drain instead of collecting in your thoat causing irritation. If you do this in combination with most any cough medicine you will rest much better.

Mix you a strong drink and go to bed you will fell better in the morning if that do work make you some home made cough syrup 16 oz whiskey 16 oz peppermint candy 32 oz honey 8oz lemon juice

Not sure if you'll be able to handle it (I can't)...
Buckley's Mixture - you can get it at most pharmacies. I use it for my disabled son, but he has a feeding tube and doesn't have to taste it!!! My sister takes it, but she needs someone to use a syringe to get it to the back of her throat. The taste is the worst in the world, I promise. But, within minutes of taking it, cough is gone, congestion is clear. It's all natural, smells like it would clean the grease right off an engine - like a combo of Vicks and some sort of cleanser.
But, IT WORKS.

try day quil and nite quil. I use the walmart brand and worked just as good. I would cough at night when I laid down and then I got that and slept for 8 hrs. without waking up. Good luck.

You can try Buckley`s cough medicine. your not gonna get over your cold any faster but try this.

Codeine plus Actifed (triprolidine) will kill any cough .
