Brainwashed? No. But I think they may be misled. Most atheist arguments seem to work by refuting certain fundamentalist Christian conceptions of God and then leapfrog to "no deities exist", or that if something has a natural explanation, God can't have a part in it. These is a totally uncalled-for leaps as there are far more conceptions of God out there.

I wouldn't exactly call them brainwashed. Evolution is their belief system, and atheists tend to follow only those scientists who use evolution as an excuse to deny the existence of God, Richard Dawkins as an example. But,yet they choose to ignore the words of other scientists who happen to believe in God,and I'm not speaking of creationists, either. I'm talking about scientists who not only believe in God,but also evolution, scientists such as Francis Collins, who is the Director of The Human Genome Project. Atheists won't listen to ANYONE who believes in God,no matter what their qualifications. Science can't prove God doesn't exist, and to outright say God is not real is totally irrational.
Self-deceived is a more apt word than brainwashed

No. Brainwashing only occurs when the person wishes it or allows it. Atheists believe what they believe not by force or persuasion but by what is in their hearts.

I do believe babies don't go for a magical sky pixie that created everything. So something must happen at a later date.

No, just free thinkers making a choice, just like those who choose Christianity, or Islam, or Buddhism, or any of the many approaches to beliefs that exist in this world of ours.

Not believing in God is a choice, the result of being given free will.
It shouldn't define who a person is or cause people of faith to hate them.
Christ loves the non-followers just as much as the followers. He died for all of us.

No. I don't think atheist are the ones instilling their beliefs on their children from the day they are born. Sorry to burst your bubble but it's the other way around.
