The answers to this vary tremendously by geographic and other factors. Seek out rate quotes from various insurers. The internet makes this very fast and easy.

i dont know, get on with your parents' policy if you can. When i was 16 my insurance was about $75 a month for a 87 ranger. i also had good student discount, drivers' ed, and this other thing through state farm, that all saved me about $100/ month. so you should expect to pay quite a bit, especially for a newer truck. But then again i dont know if you make $150K a year or have to pay it yourself

ps, i live in colorado and we have some of the highest ins rates in the country..

sure hope daddy is paying the bills on this truck, otherwise you are gonna be broke before you pull out of the driveway.

and WHY would a 16 yr old new driver need this truck? are you a farmer? if not....you are adding to the fuel costs of everyone else, you are adding to the carbon and co2 in the air that is causing global warming, etc. think of others instead of yourself if this truck is for joy only. get a compact car otherwise.

What, you need a 3/4 ton truck to carry your school books? Give your head a shake. That is a work truck, and unless you are a construction framer carrying tools and materials, or similar tradesman, you have no logical use for a rig like that.

its very hard to say. it will probably be more since its a truck and ure young. so after bout 9 years ur insurance will go down a bit.. with safe driving that is. i have a truck too.. and im under 25. i think mine is aroudn 900-1000 a year. good luck. stay safe

If you are 16 and have $27,000 to spend on your first truck, don't worry about insurance costs, I'm sure you can afford that too.

How can you afford a big ol rig like this?
Maybe an old s10 that only had liablility insurance on it would be more appropriate
