Put a new clutch today in my 2000 Mustang GT(Ford Racing King Cobra clutch) when I am in 3rd gear at apox 60mph I tend to hear a chattering noise and sounds a little like a grind. This does not happen every time but enought to bring it to my attention. Does anyone know what may be the problem. The clutch has only 50 miles on it and was installed this Thursday. Thanks

If it only does it in third gear I doubt it is the clutch, try to duplicate the sound in a different gear but at the same rpm as third @ 60mph. If it does it at a certain rpm it may be the throw bearing or the pressure plate and flywheel might need to be balanced.
Did they replace the pilot bearing/bushing... might have a little play where the transmission input shaft mates with the engine crank.

Not sure if your clutch has this, but some do have anti vibration clips on them. If one is missing or damaged, this might be a cause of your noise. Other causes can be pilot bearing wear, input shaft wear, improper clutch alignment, debris in the wear plate, improper flywheel finish, and a few other possibilities. Check for RPM related noise.... IE if 3rd gear at 60 mph is 3200 rpm, then test at 1st and 2nd gear at the same rpm. Good luck.

undesirable information: it is not the throwout bearing, that's a gearbox bearing. If the sound starts once you press the take carry of, it is the throwout. once you press the pedal, the take carry of mechanism separates the gearbox from the engine, and the throwout bearing absorbs that velocity distinction. while the pedal is launched, the gearbox starts spinning lower back. for that reason, if the noise comes lower back while freeing the pedal, it is coming from the internals of the field. That being the case, you (or a experienced mechanic) will might desire to open and inspect the gearbox to discover the defective bearing. yet considering that removing and commencing the gearbox is an high priced job, that's advisable to verify and alter all factors that look somewhat worn as quickly because it is opened. some human beings only purchase a rebuilt gearbox. it is yet another decision. solid success

I would say its got a problem,I would take it back and have them check it out before it does damage or comes apart on you.It should be smooth and no noise at all.
