why do guys say: give me a call...?

why can't they just call us@!!!! are they intimidated? I met this guy 2 days ago and he emailed me back saying.... give me a call..
What's up with that? what he just wants to chat? no date?!!

He probably wants to get to know you a little better before he asks you out. This also helps you decide.

....maybe he wants to ask you out privately on the phone?

....maybe they're scared that your parents are going to pick up or something idk lol
