In the bible at 2ND Samuel chapter 12, verse 13 David now said to Nathan: I have sinned against Jehovah." David knew he has done a terrible thing having had sexual relations with Bath-Sheba who was the wife of Uriah. Because of King Davids repentive attitude, Jehovah in turn, did let his sin pass by, and he did not take Davids life. Verse 14 Notwithstanding this, because you have unquestionably treated Jehovah with disrespect by this thing, also the son himself just born to you will positively die."
Verse 15 And Jehovah proceeded to deal a blow to the child that the wife of Uriah had borne to David so that it took sick. Verse 18 And it came about on the seventh day that the child gradually died. How sad that this had to happen especially when King David for well knew what he did with Bath-Sheba was wrong.
Today we have the bible to let us know whats right and wrong, it is a guide to help us along the way. We need to look into the bible for guidance so we don't sin. David's first son with Bathsheba died.
The Holy Bible, King James Version
2 Samuel 12:14 Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.
15And Nathan departed unto his house. And the LORD struck the child that Uriah’s wife bare unto David, and it was very sick. 16David therefore besought God for the child; and David fasted, and went in, and lay all night upon the earth. 17And the elders of his house arose, and went to him, to raise him up from the earth: but he would not, neither did he eat bread with them. 18And it came to pass on the seventh day, that the child died.

It died unnamed even though David fasted and mourned over the sick child for seven days. See 2 Samuel 12: 15-23.
