You want to find out if your school chum likes you before you ditch your existing BF because you are scared to be all alone. What would you do if you asked the guy you like out and he said that he would only if the really hot chick he likes turns HIM down when he asks HER out? That wouldn't even be as bad as what you are doing to your bf in Oregon.
Risk loneliness and do the decent thing. Break up with your boyfriend because you don't want to be with him and for no other reason. He is a real person not a consolation prize.

You shouldn't do it if you're currently have a BF. I advice you to break up with your current BF if you don't really like him. (Too bad, he will be unhappy) But you should deal your love first. Since he's a guy, he can easily forget you. :)
Anyway, You can call your BF in oregon, talk to him almost everyday in the phone. Plan something for the future, such as going out with him. :)

First break up with your bf in Oregon. Then start talking to the guy you like. Get to know him, and one day ask him if he would like to go to (select a place to eat and a movie to see or something)....then you will know from what he says.
