Why do guys tell your friends they dont like you but they really do?

They'd probably rather hear the question straight from you. I personally get annoyed with all the indirect "do you like her?" stuff. I like to think that two people can talk about such things without help. Ask him yourself, you're apt to get an honest answer, unless he's so shy that he's not ready for any kind of relationship.

Men have some complex that when they are around other men they can't show that they have real emotions like women do.
They put up a front infront of their friends so that they seem bulletproof and like a "big strong man."
While women are ready to burst with emotions about the new guy in their sight when they are with their friends.
Just the way it works in most cases.

most guys dont like putting them selfs out there from fear fo rejection, or what their friends will think. or mayby hes just nervous and doesnt want to make the first move, if you think that he really does like you then make the first move and see what happens. good luck

they probably suspect that your friends are going to tell you, and maybe he doesn't want to tell you quite yet, because they don't know what to say if your friend tells you. if someone walks up to you and says, 'Hey! do you like so and so?' and they're his or her friend, you're most likely to say, "No." or something like that....errr that's what i would do. i got my friend to do that this afternoon...idk what he's going to say since he especially doesn't really like talking to her :I
