I haven't filed my taxes for 2006 yet. Can I still file for '07 and file for '06 later?

You can file whenever, but you will be paying stiff penalties if there was any $$ due (now overdue)
Not filing / paying by April 17th this year will mean more penalties, more fines - unless you overpaid and are due refunds.
If $$ are still due from last year, figure the debt is compounding at a major rate ( a former coworker had his overdues hit the fan about 4 years after the fact and they ended up garnishing $500 a month for 5 years)
No one wants to do the tax thing but most realize how really ugly it gets if you don't do it on time.

Your 2006 taxes are to be filed by April 17, 2007. You will not file your 2007 taxes until after January 1, 2008. If you did not file your 2005 taxes you must do so and will end up with a penalty for that tax year.

You can file for both simultaneously. You will have to file 2005 prior to your 2006 taxes and you will incur interest from anything owed for 2005. You need to have both done by April 15th, 2007 or file for extentions for both.
