If not, what are some safer things to drink? I'm feeling very thirsty these days and I keep drinking juices that have lots of acid in them example (straberry/kiwi, orange juice, etc..) besides water, what are some other good drinks?

Oily and peppery aliments really have rarely to do with it. Your stomach can pick up those really well. The most immediate thing you may do is to stop drinking coffee and cola. Smoking is not good also, but that can be harder to stop. Don't over-eat. Don't go to bed too soon after eating. Don't burp too much - this carries acid up with the burp.

I have had reflux for a long time...Yogurt actually helps a lot. So does not eating too much before bedtime. I found TUMS and other chewable things totally useless, but when mine is at its worst, Gaviscon liquid always works well. Good luck!

Anything with carbonation is going to give you trouble. Try drinking purple grape juice (diluted a bit so it isn't as heavy), Ginger-lemon, chamomile, or other herbal tea--most are good either hot or iced. Another option is sugar free Kool-Aide. Sounds juvenile, but it works.
