Don't. Most codes do not allow wood burning fireplaces anymore, and I hear more and more people asking for them again. Gas fireplaces don't have the pop and crackle that make the fireplace so special.

YOU, .... BUY "VENT FREE" GAS LOGS, THEN YOU CAN CLOSE THE FLUE & REALLY HEAT THE HOUSE!

PIPE DOPE / TEFLON TAPE, A WRENCH-CRESCENT WRENCH, & DISH SOAP-TEST LEAKS.... THAT ALL YOU NEED PLUS THE LOGS FROM HOMER DEPOT, OR THE LOWELY ONES AT LOWES!
