I have a suitcase, and a duffle bag. The duffle bag I know is under 50 lbs but is full and my suitcase is so heavy I'm scared it's over 50 lbs? The thing is, I do have another small duffle bag packed in my suitcase, I could take that out along with some other stuff and use that as a second carry on (along with my laptop) but this will be kind of difficult since i am taking the bus to the airport.

If I do have to pay more I don't mind, but I don't want to have to ramble through my luggage. Help? I'd appreciate suggestions thanks.

I've checked Delta & American Airlines websites. It seems that both of those airlines will charge somewhere between $25 and $100. It depends on how much over you are. For one of them if your between 51 and 70 lbs it's $25 and if your bag is between 71 and 100 lbs its $100.

I would reccommend checking your airlines website to see what they charge.

Check with your airline ahead of time. Mostly they just charge you extra but I believe they can refuse to accept the stuff if it's overweight. Can you even out the weight at all by putting all the heavier stuff in the smaller bag and using the bigger bag for lighter weight clothing and such? I've found that if I have 2 bags and one is only a bit overweight (a couple of pounds) they usually don't do anything. Also, you can get a pretty good estimate of the weight by weighing the bag before you go. Weigh yourself, then pick up the bag and weigh yourself holding it. Home scales usually aren't exact, but it will give you an idea of whether you are way over weight.

You should take your suitcase down from over those 50 lbs!
Oh? You mean it weighs more than 50 lbs?
Well, if money is no object, why not ship your luggage instead of lugging it around?

Check with the airline...50 lb limit is probably for total check in luggage, not just one bag

You will have to pay more. My husband travels a lot and he has gone through this. But if you have another suitcase that has some space and is underweight, it would be to your advantage to repack.

Yes u will have to pay extra - how much will depend on where u r travelling to - whether the trip is international or within the country.

you got one carry on and a laptop/purse for the plane...and your checkin...if it's over 50lbs you have to pay extra. Why not, if you can, ship things ahead (or back...whichever)..it's cheaper to ship than to pay extra on a plane (going rate is $45 for 5 lbs over...my husband is a frequent flyer)

I additionally could deliver. besides the undeniable fact that, obese expenses are massively bigger than the 2d bag fee. I agree, the opportunities of having to verify a third shop on spectacular now are noticeably stable--they are getting very strict.
