For a wedding that I was in, we got the bride both a wedding DAY survival kit and a wedding NIGHT survival kit.
DAY kit:
full of emergency needs such as extra pantyhose, nail file, clear polish, waterproof mascara, mirror compact, tissues, mini hairspray, travel curling iron(the small battery operated ones) tums, asprin, bobby pins, mini sewing kit, saftety pins, slippers, "tide to go" pen, Oral B brush ups (don't want food in your teeth!), mini deodorant....etc......and we had gotten a really pretty bridal bag/purse to put it all in.
NIGHT kit:
oils, body chocolates, feather tickler, handcuffs, glow in the dark body paints, play dice (give instructions on what to "do"!), pretty but sexy lingerie-not trashy, candles, ...other "items"LOL....a bottle of champagne and 2 glasses....and we put all of that in a really cute "overnight" bag that we found-it had red "kiss" lips and words like hot, sexy, love all over it....it was REALLY CUTE!
She loved both "kits" and USED them both as well!!!! We didn't put anything tooooo X-rated in the night bag, and things that may have been a little racey we disguised the pkging a little so that it wouldn't offend anybody or be inappropriate for any of the younger people. But it was a big hit! (Even the ol' grannies were giggeling at it....teehee....)

The Bride generally buys the Bridesmaids gifts for being Bridesmaids because they buy their own dress, shoes, etc. Plus the wedding and shower gift. So it's basically a rule of thumb for the Bride to give the Bridesmaids a gift and usually the Grooms give a gift to the grooms as well.

some times all the bridesmaids go in on a more expencive gift off her registry or i have heard that they buy her all the things she needs like the garter the cake cutter the flower girl baskets the ring bear pillow ect. you can also do individual gifts from her registry i always add in a naughty nightgown for fun nothing to raunchy i leave that for the bachlorette party, but something fun.

I got my friend a "private" gift that she could only open in front of us bridesmaids as to not cause gasps from grandma! (Vibrator) She was always to scared to go into those places so we did it for her. We made a gift bag w/ different "tools". After the honeymoon she thanked each one of us!!!! I think they "tried something new" :) LOL
And people say that after you get married the sex dwindles so she'll be prepared in case it does!

I would have all the maids go together (if agreed on) and buy something from where ever the bride is registered at. That way you know you're getting what she wants. Good luck.
