. 2 explanations: #1 1 meter = 39.+ inches, call it 40" 1,000 meters = 4,000 inches = 1 KILOmeter 1 KILOmeter = 1 Klick or click (either) R-o-u-g-h-l-y, 3K (kilometers) = 2 miles... not really, it's closer with 9K = 7 miles (36,000 feet vs 37,000 feet) but 3-to-2 is close enough for most purposes, other than for hand grenades, arty rounds and laser-guided bombs! #2: On sniper rifles, there are 2 knobs on the 'scope: the knob on top can be turned to compensate for windage deflection; and the knob on the side can be turned to account for the bullet's "drop" due to gravity on its way down-range. Those 'scopes have knobs that 'click' each time they are turned a very small distance. Snipers usually work with a second team member, The Spotter. The spotter uses a 40+ power spotting-scope to 'read' the conditions down-range and conditions between the target and The Shooter. The Spotter will call out his findings (even if it's as a whisper) to The Shooter. Since The Rifle is the 3rd member of the team, it has been 'zeroed' at a certain distance under certain conditions. After making adjustments to the 'scope for a particular shot, after the shot is taken, the 'scope should then be returned to its original setting, the "Known Entity" or base-line setting. They will write down ALL of the knowable facts about the circumstances of their tracking, camouflaging, waiting, target acquisition and disposal, and their exit. The point: Each "1-minute-of-arc-" adjustment on the scope equals one 'click' on the 'scope knob/s. So, The Spotter might say "2 clicks left, 1 click up" so that The Shooter can hit The target. The knobs have a definite 'click' sound AND FEEL, so that the shooter knows that each delicate adjustment is 'set' even against the recoil of the fired weapon. Usually after their windage/elevation adjustments to the 'scope's knobs, they will replace adjust cap so that the knobs cannot accidentally be changed by a stray movement or rough handling, etc. .

Klik or K is an abbreviated term for Kilometer or .6 of one mile. Same as Mike Mikes refers to millimeters. Such as it is there is no such thing as standard or imperial miles. A mile is a mile is a mile. There is standard measurement (US), Imperial (commonwealth) and metric (the whole world except the US).

Conversion 100KPH X .6 = 60 MPH and
60 MPH X .6 =36 (+ 60 MPH )=96 KPH

A 'CLICK' is military slang for KILOMETER or .6214 of a mile.
Ten 'CLICKS' would be 6.2 miles.
