You'll need to specify the make and model of DE Condensing Unit. Is this a marine-based application, industrial process etc? There are several manufacturers of these types of units.

One of the things you always want to think about when arranging equipment is accessibility. The minimum clearance from a manufacturer migh be ok, but you gotta remember that someone will need to get to the unit to service it in the future.

First of all expansion condensing are two opposing physical phenomenon. Condensing is a contracting process usually done by phase change from gas to liquid releasing heat to achieve it. As far as the distance you are asking, it all dependes on the BTU or tonnage of the condensers. You can either get a degree in thermodynamics or look up a table published by HVAC society or institute.
