What are the risks in the field of Anestigiology? What is a typical day like, and do you feel comfortable with your job? I mean do you stay on your toes all the time, because you all could kill someone, so it is just not a laid back job, right. I just want to know some things about the field of being an Anestigiologist, because a lot of my friends are considering this career and I may even consider it?

Occasionally someone gets put to sleep and doesn't awake.

That's where malpractice insurance comes in handy.

Don't mean to sound rude or anything, but just for future reference it's spelled *anesthesiologist*.

Rarely do patients die from the anesthetics. Of course, sometimes the anesthesiologist will "over-do" the medication, and that can be lethal but rarely does that ever happen.

Of course it's not a laid back job. You have to be just as alert as the surgeon is when administering anesthetics.
