Sometimes but unless a)the guys really attractive-he has a handsome face b) a smooth style c)is popular d) is muscle(y)/ macho(y) it probably is not going to work out well. Obviously its different for everybody but theres a girl at school I've barely talked to that I like and I tried calling her and just talking to you, the conversation was extremely awkward. Now if we were already friends, dating her would be much easier. Guys approaching girls they don't already know doesn't work out too well in the real world. The exception is spring break when everyone's drunk, one could approach a total stranger and sleep with her. Not something I'd do but the situation could work out pretty well for the guy. One night stands are extremely gross and usually end in STDS. I wouldn't recommend them.

i guess so. last summer i went to a new camp far from my house and i didnt not know a single person there, and on the first day a boy in my group asked me out. so yea its possible
