God hates sin. If you do not believe in Jesus, then you will die in your sins.
It's not that Christians are trying to be mean, it's just their reality.

Ah come on quit being a sour grape. I'm an Atheist and I still respect Christians. I don't mind being condemned to Hell every day. I'm disappoint and don't feel worthy if I'm not condemned at least once in the course of an afternoon. Don't you know if it wasn't for Christians Atheism would have little meaning. None of the other religions are actually worthy of opposition. If you are so concerned about burning in Hell you should be on the other side. You are certainly not an Atheists

check out what the Buddhists say about this....
I don't know anyone who disrespects Buddhism - everyone has a very hard time poking holes in a religion which has no "god" as such, preaches nothing but Love, Kindness and Compassion and has an incredibly peaceful way about it.
It's also melding really well with the concepts which Physics is begnning to understand! There ain't no other religion on the planet which can claim their leader is also deeply interested in Quantum Mechanics! Talking about the Dalai Lama here....
Love and Light,

No, Christians don't represent God's love. Sad, but true. You are not going to have your soul ripped to pieces, and you will not always have an empty wandering soul, unless you let it be like that. We all have our own path, you must search to find yours. Christian's are not representing Jesus or God or anything the bible teaches, except maybe the pharisees and Sadducee's.

If everyday you are hearing that you are going to burn in hell, then perhaps it is the questions you are asking. It is not the norm for Christians to speak about hell unless asked, we prefer to dwell in the love of God. Let me tell then that God does love you and He is trying very hard to get you to trust and love Him back. You don't need to feel ashamed because you don't own a Bible, perhaps you just never thought about it. But I want to tell you also, that to love God you should look to Him and not to people. God Bless.

I think its really sad that people categorize ALL christians as judgemental a**holes. I am a christian and would never ever tell anyone they are going to hell and especially wouldnt tell them God is going to rip their souls to shreds. People that says those things in my opinin really arent followers of Christ in the first place. You will know a christian by the fruit they bear...love ,joy, peace, etc. If they arent these things, then dont even give them the honor of being called a christian.

Hi Silhouette,
I am so sorry your experience about some Christians were unpleasant. I do understand where you are coming from.
I am a Christian so to answer your question, God's love is that He gave His Son to die for mankind so that whoever believes in Him will have eternal life.
Jesus also preached and taught his disciples to love their neighbor (and this would be known as the Greatest Commandment). Because we are human and fallible, this is one of the most difficult teachings to really understand and apply.
But rest assured, God loves you that He died for you. The Bible says that there's not greater love than someone lay down his life for a friend. Jesus had done that for all of us.
My prayers are with you.

Our religion is all about God, not love. Love is a big part of it but for an atheist to preach about love to a Christian is like Osama Bin Ladin preaching about acceptance to a hippy. Ive met far more loving believers than I have loving unbelievers.
Does love begin by telling a lie or telling the truth? I would rather here the harsh truth than a sugar coated lie anyday.

I think you should have a bible and you should go to church and should be baptised, and I can tell you all the above stuff over and over again, but it's you who has to make the right decision. I already know what my life is, I really want you to think about what these people are saying and you should read the bible, but you have to decide, not me. So maybe those people are trying to scare you into believing, but I think I don't need to push you, I told you what is right because you decide what happens to your future. I also don't know wheather you're going to hell or not, only God knows that and it's not mine or anyone elses place to decide that or tell you that, because we don't know that.

As an atheist, I totally agree. I don't have a problem with anyone's believing in God. I just have a problem with people telling me that I deserve to burn in Hell for all eternity because I don't believe the same things they do. I have a problem with them standing outside of AIDS patients funerals holding signs saying "God Hates F*gs". I have a problem with them telling me I have no morals simply because I don't believe in God. (God is not necessary for morality to exist!) I respect your beliefs, but I only respect you if you respect me.

No, I don't think that's God's love. I believe in God, but not in that type of God. I believe that God instead would open your eyes, as He actually cares about you and loves you. I think Christianity has devolved into an ego-building religion. Why else would one try to instill fear in someone?
