I am a 15 year old female and I have a sore pains and sometimes swelling in my knees, fingers, right shoulder, and right hip. My family thinks it it Rheumetoid Arthritis but I have had 3 blood tests done and they all say negative. What could it be?

I too have RA and there are alot of false negatives it may show up later and another thing that comes to mind is growing pains talk with your doctor about this .I know you are in pain but don't stop looking for an answer they will find it sooner or later.I wish you luck and hope you can get relief sooner than later.

growing pains most likely, however, there are other illnesses that can cause sore pains. Lupus, MS, Fibromyalgia, and other illnesses can cause those symptoms. I would insist on seeing a doctor, and getting a good work over just to rule out anything serious.

It could be a mosquito borne virus - it's called Ross River Virus where I live - it affects the joints and can last many months.
