It's case by case with each application. Try the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor.

You also have the ability to run an executable in a compatibility mode for a previous version of Windows. Right-click on the .exe file and choose properties. Click on compatibility. This feature is available in XP as well as Vista.

Well, a question that most appears for me.

Hello,
Vista is NOT compaitable with any other computer that usually runs Windows or Linux. Vista makes there own computers. But you can download a Upgrade tool that will tell you what to upgrade to be able to run Vista. When you install Vista, it deletes all Windows files and documents. Then Vista replaces the files to Vista. Then if you want to switch back, you will have to buy a Winodws License and Cd.

Any Questions,
Billy Rowe

Most of Microsoft's software is back words compatible you may have some that won't work but go to Microsoft's web page and run the compatibility test and it will tell of any problems that may appear, in the search box type upgrading to vista..

Depends, there are many software titles that don't have new drivers yet and wont work. Somewhere on the net (I read about this a week or so ago) there is a site that has lists of programs that won't work on Vista.

Not all of them can run on Vista. Some will work, some won't.
Mostly, Microsoft's products released after XP, will have 80% chance to work.
Software's before XP will have less than 10% chance.
16 bit programs won't work on Vista.
Softwares released after 2004 will certainly work.
