He asked you out but you said maybe. That wasn't really an answer. Now you are hesitant because he may not want to go out with you. Why then did he ask? If you are old enough to date, you need to approach him in a friendly manner now and ask if he's ready for the date? If you aren't interested, then just let it go, but he probably won't ask again. Would you?

If it's easy to do on the phone rather in person then tell him at school you want to talk to him and have him call you later...It's easier to talk about boy/girl stuff over the phone....obviously he wants to go out with you or he would not asked you in the first place....but be honest and tell him to that you don't want to lose him as a friend but you do want to go out with him..trust your heart!! good luck

It sounds like you've let it get too far. 3 days is the maximum amount before people start changing their opinions. I think you've lost him. However... if you MSN him right now, you probably have a good chance. If you don't do it right away, then you must not really want to go out with him. Expect him to distance himself.
Good luck, and go for it!

think up something you'd like to go do with him
since you basically have a 'pending' date with him that he asked you for, just go ahead and ask if he'd like to go [with your idea]
place in your mind, the goal of doing this to figure out where he stands - prepare yourself for his reaction of
a) yes, he'd like to
b) no he wouldnt
c) doesnt answer right away
if his answer is a, have a nice time, if his answer is b, gracefully accept the answer, not tipping your hand you're hurt, change the subject and/or terminate with something you've got to go do
if the answer is c, then let him get back to you but dont hold your breath. dont bring it up again if he doesnt
if you prepare for each of the outcomes ahead of time, and have the goal of flushing out where he stands, rather than getting what you want, you'll handle it well and have his respect no matter what

Just come up to him one day and say you still want to go out with me. If he says yes then go for it. But don't hold back on it take a risk test the waters.

You created the awkward situation. He's probably avoiding the conversation to save face AND prevent making you feel uncomfortable. He is probably worried that his asking you was wrong and that you feel uncomfortable.
You need to talk to him ASAP. Tell him just what you said in your question. You wanted to say yes but were nervous. Trust me, you will make his day.

dont be afraid to ask him, tell him that since the day he asked you out, its been weighing on you that how you should not have rejected him then, that you want to know him better. what you do will never ruin your relationship, you must learn from your mistakes and don't be afraid to say anything silly or awkward.

believe me, he likes you back. if he didnt like you, then he wouldn't ask you out. he probably thought u dont like him because you didn't answer about him asking you out and so now he feels awkward talking to you because he thinks you don't like him. just say that you would like to go out with him. if you feel too uncomfortable/nervous saying that, then write a note and give it to him, whatever works.

Ask him out. If it works out great. If not, the end it so horribly that he wants nothing to do with you. There is no going back to being "just friends".
