I strongly agree with you. I've thought this for awhile. I also however see that they need help. If you've studued in Word History, or Country Abroad you see how much they ask for our help. They need it. We are fine and living in what is still a free and dignified country. I think you shouldn't be concerned with the works of the president and maybe think about people over there, think about your classmates parents, aunts, uncles and possible siblings fighting. Even if you don't agree with the decision made, then you should wait until you old enough to vote. To sum it up -Money is nothing. Lives are.

I will agree that that is way too large a sum to fight terrorism in one small part of the world but I will disagree that it is the federal government's duty to rebuild any portion of a city. That is the duty of the local, county, and state governments. The federal government already gives back much more than that amount each year to social programs, highway and other federal construction projects, homeland security, research, college and other grants, and many other federally funded programs.

Yes. That would make the Chinese jumping with joy. America's spiralling foreign debt, and enormous war spending. That increases the deficit further, and the more we owe the Chinese. If the war in Iraq goes on for many years, the deeper we sink in debt and the more the Chinese makes the profits.

Increased spending with no tax increase?. Oh boy, that would be debt. Fellow Americans, brace yourself for the hard times ahead!!.

Nope, I don't think it's a waste. I served two tours in Iraq, and that money is needed to keep 160,000 troops in boots, bullets and beans for a year. It also goes to transportation, fuel, and maintenance of humvees, diesel trucks, and aircraft. I don't think people fully understand what 'closing the purse strings' will really mean to the American troops in Iraq. We need that budget until everyone is home again.

There are plenty of private organizations in this country to help the poor get back on their feet...if they choose to.

yes i agree. but on the other hand i did like and trust him at first and for a while i didn't know. but now i guess all you can do is trust. we hear all they want us to and we don't know what goes on behind closed doors. all i can tell you is to try and give him the benefit. everyone is so quick to criticize him when things don't go right but i think that he knows what is going on here too and realizes it too. all i think is that i don't think that he is gonna make this country sink like we all think he is doing. he has a great big concern for this country too. he has a wife and daughters as well as possible grandchildren to think about. I just try to trust him and look at it that way and hope what he is doing is the right thing.

Just waite,,, we haven't heard the good part yet.
Just like always, he will suggest paying for it with a tax cut.

Never mind that it means borrowing the money from China.

Amen to that!
If that money is spent here, the president's party calls it social welfare. Spend it in Iraq, we pay Halliburton. Go figure.
