Jesus says that its easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.

So if you're rich, what should you do? Give all your wealth away?

Is Jesus saying that not many rich people will go to heaven?

Is it okay to be rich?

no,
it is only a sin if you worship money as a god;
in other words put it above God.
it can be a great roadblock to salvation as it easily corrupts.

If you are rich and have many possessions, you must not let those things get in the way of your relationship with God. Read what he told the rich young ruler. He let his posessions possess him! It is harder for a rich man to enter the kingdom than for a camel to go through the eye of a needle. Do not let your riches become an idol to you to the point that you put them before your service to God. If you use your riches wisely according to God's will, there is nothing wrong with being rich. You can still go to heaven, just don't let your riches possess you.

Yes, how can people spend $500,000 on a personal basketball court knowing there are people not even 100 miles away from him that dont have enough $ to eat or heat their home.

God has called on the rich to deny themselves and take up their cross with Jesus. Part of that is denying yourself a life of luxury in favor of doing good and being rich toward God.

If youre rich, you should not be proud or love your money. you should treat it as if it was all Gods and use it for his purposes and avoid living a life of excess and glamour.

Is it okay to be rich? Money is a temptation and God tells us over and over to be wise with it and be careful not to oppress the poor. Many of the characters like David and Solomon were rich beyond all imagination yet they were described as righteous. Why? Because they pursued God despite the temptation of wealth and used it for GOOD!

the reason is that rich people have a hard time of letting of of their pride, hence why the bible says a camel will have an easier time going through a needles eye than a rich man going to heaven.

Wealth is not a sin. Jesus wants His followers to be prosperous, the Bible tells us this many times. The verse you are talking about warns us of the evil of worshipping money. Wealthy people are at more risk to get caught up in material possesions, but if you read after that verse, Jesus says that through God all things are possible

I think it is okay to be rich as long as you share your wealth with the poor and the marginalised. Rich people have a moral responsibility to help the poor (Parable of Lazarus and the Rich Man).
Have a grace filled day

Worldly posessions are ment to be gifts from God, having things will not send you to heaven or hell. Relying on your riches instead of God is the bad thing, and if one feels led to give away lots, then i guess they should do it.

That is heresy to think of the material world as evil.

It is okay to be rich as long as you do not let it control your life. When it becomes your love and life, it is a problem. In the bible it says, "the love of money is the root of all evil" it does not say, "money is the root of all evil" It is okay to be wealthy, just dont let it become who you are. And be content with or without it.

We choose to come to this material world because we have material desires. Wealth is the means to obtain more material possessions, therefore being wealthy makes us more attached to this material world. The more we are attached to this material world the less desires we have to advance spiritually. There is no such thing as being attached both spiritually and materially. One develops one or the other, not both. Now, you can spiritualize your wealth by using it for spiritual causes.

There is nothing wrong with being rich. Be sure to help others. Just make it a blessing and not a burden.
