around the base they should have ski equipment rental shops so just ask the hotel or place you're staying at and they will point you in to the right directions to get you skis.

Keystone will be cheap. You can get a condo or hotel in silverthorne for cheap as well. Vail & that is too expensive for the cost. Keystone has 3 mountains so if it's busy you can just hop back into the outback / North Peak. Only kicker at Breck is that you spend all day running across the lifts to get from one side to the other which takes up a good chunk of the day if it's busy. My advice is Keystone. Take the first lift up by River run & just jump off the back side & keep going. However if you're not too great on the slopes maybe stick around the front side. Lots of greens & blues. Plus if you snap something the medics are close "). Hope that helps!!! Oh one other option is staying in Frisco & driving up to Keystone as well. Frisco is about 7 miles around Lake Dillion to Keystone while Silverthorne is about 2 or 3 miles. Take care & be safe!

Sports Authority (formerly Gart Sports) has 15$ rentals. The Ski's aren't great but they'll work. Earlier this season I got a season rental for 75$ at Colorado Ski and Golf but I think they've stopped offering that now.
