Contact your breeder that your dog came from. I assume they sold you a show potential puppy knowing you intended to breed? They can guide you in the right direction. If this is not the case, don't breed.

If you don't know the answer the to this question, you shouldn't be breeding. There are millions of dogs dying in shelters every year and you want to add to these numbers?

Do you have the money to pay for the vet care for your girl if she has complications? What about the pups?

Breeding should be left to professionals not people who just get a dog and it goes into heat. Please don't breed your dog.

I breed toy size yorkie's. Or should say did. I just lost my male that was my baby boy to a freek act of nature breeding accident. I just brought home his ashes today. I don't ever want another dog or puppy again.

Do not breed the dog until at least 2 years old. This will give her time to mature properly. It is not good for the dog to breed at the first heat as they have problems from being too young such as not taking care of the pups. Also, most dogs will not let the male breed them at their first heat.

Two years is the proper age to make sure he is free of congenital defects common in the breed. But if you're asking these sorts of questions, you really shouldn't be breeding. There's alot more to breeding than putting a male and female together and out pop babies. You have to look into genetics, cost, care, and things of that nature. I suggest you do alot of research: read, read, READ! and talk to different breeders.

It is okay to breed your dog if she is physically an adult, but breeding a chihuahua can be risky because they are so small that they often have problem with the pregnancy, with labor, and with taking care of thier puppies. If you still think you want to do it have her checked out first by your veterinarian, and make sure you know what to do when she goes into labor and that you have someone to call if she is having trouble. You wouldn't want to risk the life of your pet to get puppies.

Never breed on the first heat. If you do you may lose your bit ch and probably the puppy(s). Since you didn't know that, don't breed at all. Ever.

I can't stress this enough -- please leave breeding to the professional breeders. Chihuahuas are very small dogs and there can be a lot of complications with giving birth to the puppies. Unless you know what you're doing, it's best not to mess with the bloodlines and endanger your dog's life.

Never, you need to be more educated on breeding first and NO dog should have babies during their first heat if they go in on time, they are much too young and it can be dangerous. Please leave the breeding to experienced breeders only.
