IF she was defending herself then no you can't press charges. Why did she feel threatened by you? I'm sure it wasn't just because you were holding a knife, if that was the case you better get a new gf. I have a feeling you are leaving part of the story out, or you should leave her that she feels fine just walking up and punching you because you have a knife. Clearly you gave her a reason to feel threatened in another way and you are leaving that part out, or you are dating a psycho.

You probably can't press charges, but you could get a restraining order. These things are difficult to do though, especially online, since he could easily make another account. Unless it's absolutely out of control, I would say keep ignoring him until he gets tired of it and gets a life.

I would say no, you cannot press charges. If someone could press charges over what others say about them everyone in high school would be in jail. People will always talk about other people, it isn't right, but I'm sure you have done it yourself. Be the bigger grown-up and ignore it and him.

You can "press charges" about anything you can find a lawyer willing to try your "case" in court, regardless of your chances of winning, and you have the money to pay for his or her services. I learned that six years ago when a lawyer called me asking if he could "take my case", and he volunteered that he didn't take a case he wasn't very sure he could win, and he was 100% sure he could win my case, which he did. But, so long as I had the money to pay for his services, he would have "taken my case" regardless of his chances of winning. He, or she, simply wants to earn a living, and you, well, you're the source of their income. So, again, yes you can "press charges" if there's a lawyer willing to work for you and if you have the money to pay them. If not, well then, no you can't. God Bless you.

What I am reading is Harassment and it referes refers to a veried spectrum of offensive behaviors. The term harassment is used in a legal sense it refers to behaviors that are threatening or disturbing. In our society we support free speech, only the more repetitive, persistent and untruthful types of speech qualify legally as harassment.

Verbal abuse IS NOT assault (especially in Canada). If someone is calling you names behind your back this is slander, and it is a civil matter, not a criminal one. If you are getting multiple unwanted sexual toned emails from this person, then that is harassment. If you are chatting with him on-line and he is using inappropriate language that is not criminal.

Do you know this for a fact? Do you have witnesses? If not , it is your word against his/her. if you do have proof, then there is a possibility you can charge for deframation of character.

Probably not. It depends on how this is defamatory or damaging unless you are a minor.

No. Simple as that. There is no basis for a criminal act.
