freezer To freshen toast the slices of bread and put buns under broiler for a few minutes until they are crisp. Works well for bread that has become slightly stale. If bread is in a loaf, slice it before freezing so you can remove only the number of slices you need.

on the counter or in the freezer. The fridge hastens staleing. Seriously. I am a culinary grad and a former pastry chef. I worked in a bakery. We always froze our bread that did not sell.
