Don't do it. Mallards are a game bird and you would be setting them up for death, either by starvation from not knowing how to survive, or by hunting.
Leave the raising of wild birds to experts or the animals themselves. If you really want to help, go volunteer at your local wildlife rescue.

Go to a local feed store and purchase NON-medicated poultry food. If you tell the people you are feeding mallards they'll know what do give you. Ducks are very messy. You need to clean their cages (or where ever you keep them) daily. Give them plenty of room to run and swim. Also keep them in a warm room about 75-80 degrees fahrenheit. If you purchase a heat lamp don't get it too close to the ducks you will kill them. A foot to a foot and a half is a good range. Good Luck!

If you really want to help these ducks, please take them to a wildlife rescue or rehabilitation center.
You've heard this before, but...
If you are in the US, it is illegal to raise Mallards or any type of wild duck or bird. They are protected species (Migratory Bird Treaty, etc.) and you need permits to care for them. The local wildlife rehab center has these permits, and the knowledge, resources, time, and staff to take care of the ducklings. You can volunteer there and help them take care of many types of animals. Baby season is coming fast, and the rehabbers will need all the help they can get!
In addition, it is very difficult to raise ducklings without an adult duck present, and not have them imprint on YOU. If they imprint on you, and you release them, they will think that all humans are a source of food, and they will approach anyone, including those who may do them harm.
Human raised ducklings rarely know what to do with themselves when they are released, and are easier prey for cats, dogs, racoons, foxes, coyotes, etc.
If you really want to raise ducks, and plan on keeping them for the rest of their lives (which it doesn't sound like you plan to do), get domestic ducklings (or eggs) from a local feed store or farm.

Hi. Mallard ducks are protected and it is illegal to keep them as pets. Go to your local library on raising ducks that are legal to have as pets. Ducks can spread salmonella, cannot be potty trained because of the lack of a sphincter muscle, are messy, poop alot anywhere and everywhere. Good luck and have a quacky day.

And that includes adult men wearing gown footwear or high priced "footwear"
