I do!

Not that I even believe the story, but come on!!! Doesn't it seem just a bit ridiculous that generation after generation of humanity is stuck paying for the screwups of two weak-minded losers?

If (a big if) an almighty being made me, I am CONFIDENT, that I could obey his rules, especially if it meant I could live in paradise forever. So I want to know why I don't get this opportunity at birth?

Instead, according to the Christians, I only have a CHANCE for this existence AFTER a lifetime of mortal suffering, proving myself, and ONLY if I obey the Christian rules, and accept their "savior" as my lord.

Now, does anyone find it just slightly coincidental that as "fair" as this system sounds, it also functions as a SPLENDID way for the Christians church to exert control over its followers? Mere coincidence? Maybe if you're an ignorant goat herder, but any intelligent person who looks can see the underlying mechanism at work.

Well, maybe not.

Th HUGE contradiction with that story is that at the time Eve ate the apple, she had no knowledge of good and evil....so how could she have known it was wrong to eat from the tree? She didn't even know what "wrong" was!

I'm a roman catholic by the way. However, I believe "GOD" is something that is a character created by us, humans. So that we can have faith and hope. It's really comforting to know and have someone to rely on-well that's what I believe at least. Actually, in my Humanities class, we've been doing some reading on Adam and Eve. If I was given the same choice as they did, I assume that I would have done the same cuz that's what we do. Always, curious and rebellious. In addition, Adam and Eve did not know what was coming(I mean, they didn't know they were gonna be kicked out of eden...so you know..) Also, if the story is true~ if it wasn't for them, we would not be here today. LOL (remember? the "GOD" said that Eve will bear a child in pain~) Maybe I'm wrong, but hey~ anything's possible!

I don't believe the story is true either, but I think the rational behind their mistake is that they were naive like children. It wasn't until after they left the garden that they matured and gained knowledge from their actions.

So, if you go by what many people have thought, then you can't hold the characters to the same standard as an adult. You have to picture them almost like children in regards to what they did before they ate the fruit.

The Australian Aboriginal people have this to say about Adam and Eve:

(small explanation: they don't eat much fruit, preferring bushtucker which usually consists of animal. They also call themselves "blackfellas")

"If Adam and Eve were Blackfellas, they would have ignored the apple, eaten the snake and we'd all be living in Paradise right now!"

Humans had a choice,
between the fire of wisdom, and the air of ignorance/freedom.

I believe I would have willingly eaten the fruit, and told g-d that I would have too. I think g-d wanted us to gain wisdom and intellegence, why point out a solitary tree and a solitary rule?

it was bound to happen.

"God" set them up to fail in the first place. They had no knowledge of good or evil, so how could they have known eating the fruit was really wrong. How did they know that they should have obeyed?

It's an interesting story, but I wouldn't bet my life on it.

Their sin was eating from the Tree of Knowledge. That sounds like they made the right choice to me. Knowledge is ALWAYS better than ignorance.

They ate from the "tree of knowledge". So knowledge is supposed to be a bad thing? Personally I think just about anyone would have done the same thing. I wouldn't have even needed the snake to convince me.

Your confident enough that you could obey his rules Im confident enough to say you cant. I bet you cant even keep your finger out of your nose for 10 minutes let alone obey the voice of God

Funny, after all this writing, you have said virtually Nothing. But just for laughs, could you tell us how in the world you can intelligently look at what God says is hidden from you? Intelligently explain that.
