Death is the biggest kick of all. That's why they save it for last.

The fear of the unknown has been with humans since we've existed. There have been untold thousands of explinations as to what happens to us after our bodies cease to function (sorry for sounding clinical but that's what it is). Religions are founded upon it and wars have been fought because of those religions.
No one has ever come back to let the rest of us know what's to be expected though there have been a few unproven claims.
I myself have no fear. I don't expect a heavenly utopia or an eternal damnation. What I do hope to find is answers. Unfortunately (or pehaps very fortunately) those that have gone before us can't or won't pass those answers back to us that are still here. I look at death as a passing from one plane of existence to another. What a cool adventure and a mind healing thing it would be to have all your worldly questions answered. Then again.... there may just be nothing. You blink out and are gone. Bummer! It's very easy to see why so many religions tell us there is life after death. If we didn't believe that in one form or another the human race would be in a lot worse shape than it is.

I can honestly say I am not afraid of death. I've lived a good life and I've accomplished things. As a day well spent brings happy sleep, so a life well lived brings happy death. Whether there's an afterlife or not doesn't really matter to me; I've already experienced things that have made me just being alive here and now worth while. As Conway Twitty says in one of his songs, "I may never get to heaven but I didn't miss it much".

I am not the least bit afraid of death and dying. My fear is that my children will die before me. I think the older you get the more easily you come to terms with the fact that all of us are mortal, it's a natural process, and something we all must face. You're young, death is a frightening prospect because you have not yet begun to live. You'll come around as you age and death won't seem so scary after awhile.

Sometimes when ihave had several death experience and many NDE's, there wasnt enough time to KNOW fear that i was dying.
I opened my eyes once and i was in hell, a spirit being above me was visible, around me all i could see was a barren wasteland.
on another occasion i got up out of bed and walked into the next room and looking at the back of the house i saw a door opened and an another angelic type person stood their floating off the ground, and just as i saw him something whispered in my ear and I waived my hand at the angelic vision and walked back over to my bed where I had to FORCE air back into my lungs and my eyes opened. i heard a knock at the door again and there i found a 13 year old boy looking for a mutual freinds of ours.
on another occasion, I found my self in heaven, and a voice said i was in the presense of Jesus. Truly i had to be close to death to experience such a site.
Death has many possibilities, there are thousand and millions of people who testify of after life experiences or Near death experiences. NOT all of THEM are false witnesses.

I can not say that. In fact, the thought terrifies me. I am working on it though. I want to just live my life day to day and not worry about it, ya know? I agree with you. I wish there was a way to know exactly how it goes after you die(without dying of course) so that way the fear of the unknown would go away. I think that is what most of it is. A fear of the unknown. One thing I have to say(sorry if I offend you) is that the only comfort I have in it is that I have God and have been saved. It eases me somewhat but the unknown still scares me!

I am not afraid to die. I have Jesus in my heart, and I know without a shadow of a doubt that I am going to heaven. The Bible tells a lot about heaven. It will be amazing place to be for all eternity. There is no sorrow, crying, pain, or evil there. What a wonderful place to be.

I'm not afraid.. iknow it will happen. I'd like to at least see my kids get married but...
I know that you come back and start over. even my 4 yr old told me that he was an old man before he came to us and my neice told my sister that they were brother and sister once and had an accident. you comeback to fix what youve done wrong. you are an addict and OD your next life will lead you to the same temptation and its a test if you veer from it or not same with suicide, yo come back to try it again... if you chose the right paths in life and not the same old ones your life becomes BETTER each time. its like a test. I dont know though if it keeps recylcling or if there is an goal to reach... just do good for people and yourself and youll even notice that in this life your in things will change.

I can honestly say I am not afraid to die. I am afraid however of pain and torture. Not that I think I will be tortured to death but I somehow think that the mere act of dying will be painful and that is why I want to die one of two ways. In my sleep or instantaniosly in some accident so no pain no torture

i think everybody in some shape or form is afraid to die as they know that there is no coming back from death and because of fear of the unknown although we shouldn't fear death as death is a natural part of life and we all are gonna die one day as death is the only thing in this lifetime that is guaranteed

I am afraid of death, I would like to live forever, but I have to realise that everybody on Earth will also go through it. You won't be the only one so just enjoy life while you still can.
