I'm a windows user, so I would go with vista. I have tried Mac computers out, but found them difficult to use.

But I wouldn't suggest upgrading your computer to vista if it's more then a year old. If your buy a new computer, then that's find and dandy. If your computer is under that year of age, then it should be okay to upgrade, just double check and go to the Microsoft web site and run the vista adviser to see which version best fits your computer.

Also if your computer is under a year, then you may qualify for a free upgrade for vista, check with your computer manufacture for details.

Apple software (Mac) can in common words artwork on Mac's. although, MS domicile windows (a minimum of XP) can now artwork on Mac's, yet on condition that the Mac has an Intel Pentium chip in it. Dell isn't Apple/Mac perfect, so Tiger will probable no longer artwork on it. Vista isn't a plausible determination for most computing device and Laptops. which contains some Mac's. Vista received't totally artwork except you've the right hardware. together with a WDDM licensed photos card with a minimum of 256 MB RAM (512 MB will run extra perfect), 2 GB RAM and a twin-middle processor. many human beings were upset that Vista isn't operating nicely with their cutting-edge platforms, even although they meet the minimum criteria, and Aero received't artwork in any respect. without the above enhancements, Vista works only as if that is domicile windows XP, yet with a lot less gains.

For me it's XP, Vista is not quite ready for prime time.
Too many programs and utilities and games(not anything I'm interested in) won't work with Vista because of driver updates not being available yet.
OS X for Mac is a much friendlier program (always has been) than Windows but with the new Intel Mac you can load Windows on the Mac and run both OS X and Windows...the best of both worlds. With Windows on the Mac you don't have to get rid of your Windows only programs and you will have more flexibility in the future with program choices because it won't matter which OS you're buying for, because you run both. The Intel Mac will be my next system without a doubt.

Mac is far more stable, will run fast on all new macs, is much more advanced than windows and has many really good bundled apps, eg. iLife. However, MS Office for the new macs isnt coming out till the end of this year.

Windows vista will go slow even on new PCs as it requires advanced harware, including a good graphics card. However, windows can run any app u like, especially games (which macs cant)

So if ur a businessman, go mac. But if u want to play lots of games and surf the web for cool new software to download, windows is ur only choice regardless of its inferiority to OSX.
PS: u can run windows on mac with bootcamp, but then u would have 2 buy 2 OSs

well, I'm a mac fan, so the answer i pretty clear to me. OS X. But it depends on what your needs are. If you are a hardcore gamer, Vista is probably more right for you for example.
If you just need a standard desktop for email, office programs, and viewing/listening to media I would definitely say OS X. I've been running windows since ´98 versions, but hardly ever use it anymore since I got my mac 1 year ago. So I'm a switcher in that sense.
Often I think it's question of 'religion' as well, so my best answer is to try both if you have the chance, and make up your own mind.

good luck, larsb
