just an average cuz after 8 years the most characteristics of my love affair still match the description of lust and not love.

Lust is good - it keeps the excitement of the relationship alive. Its better than loving your partner like she/he was your sibling.
If you truly care for this person then whats wrong with lust? She/he must still make you tick after all those years which I think is fantastic.
Love is not really something we can describe... its a deep inner feeling and only you know. We all have different kinds of love....
The main thing is... are you happy with the relationship? Are you comfortable? if yes to both then why are you worried? Enjoy it while it lasts....

I seem to recall from psychology classes in university that lust normally lasts for about 4 years...after that you need to depend on other factors to keep a relationship going.

8 years wow...you have to be in love (not lust) after so long...Lust for me usually lasts until after the 5th sex session when you know all there is too know about the other person

I must be lucky..4 years on and we are both in 'lust & love' with each other! I still find him physically attractive ! and wildly love him!
Surely you love him/her after 8 years ? and great that the physical attraction is there after sooo long! there must be 'something' there to keep you together!

thats eazy. when your in love it can last for years at a time. But, when your in lust it can last maybe a week or a day.

i dont know if i can give you an answer as i have been with my man for 5 years and although im in love with him i still lust after him as i find the sexiest man on the earth!! he drives me wild! i think lust lasts as long as you want it too if you get bored the kust dies but keep each other happy and it keeps going! keep exciting each other and it will never die!
