The first time, my friend called him secretly behind my back and asked him. he said "this isnt the best time" and when my friend asked him when the best time would be, he said "i'm not sure".
then, the second time, my friend called him again and asked him. he said " i havent made up my mind yet".
then i finally called him and asked him, and he said "i really don't know".
does he just not want to tell me his real answer, or is he hiding something (like his parents wont let him date or something). is it possible that he thinks all this is a joke, and hes afraid if he says yes that he will be rejected by me?

you ask 3 times if i were hm i would of said 'yes or no" it as simple as that he had 3 chances to say "yes" or "no" but give a little more time if it was 2wks ago you asked the 3rd time i was too long ask 1 more time if he says "I don't know" again.I'm sorry but,move on honey chance are he will hurt you in the future believe me I i have been hurt by more skateboarder girl that why

Unfortunately I don't think he wants to go out with you right now but is trying to be nice about it. Maybe it kind of took him by surprise and he had never really thought about you in that way so that's why he hesitates. Or maybe he just likes you as a friend and was trying to find a nice way to say no thanks.
See how he acts for awhile---see if anything changes. But right now I don't think he wants to go out with you.

The question you just put here, seems reasonable to me if you could just gently ask him that question. Go for it. What's the worse that can happen ?? Oh, on the other hand, he may begin to think you are being a bit pushy. What do you think ?

he doesnt look like he wants to get into a relationship yet. try cooling it a little between you 2. become ordinary friends first before you can see that he's ready for you.

dont chase after him cause sometimes that just scares guys.
