I'm getting annoyed at this now. Do you think there's still an actual army opposing the occupying forces? there is no war- the troops are there to keep the POPULACE under control. Sure, the rebels are being assisted by terrorists, and in that sense, there is still an enemy. But war is not counter-terrorism work. War is fighting an enemy. The War on Terror is a war because it's a battle of influence- islamist extremists versus western nations. The Iraq war is long over- what you hear about is people rising up and futily attacking those who are occupying their country.

The most important thing we need to do to be successful in Iraq is to set our own rules of engagement based upon the situation at the time of the mission. I am sick and tired of lame politicians, sitting in the comfort and safety of their own homes in Washington, telling us what our rules of engagement are. None of them is in Iraq fighting, we, the troops are... I have been a Marine for 17 years and have fought in Desert Storm, Somalia, Bosnia, and have a tour in Iraq under my belt. This is by far the worst military action I have ever been involved in and it's all due to political correctness, defeatists in congress, and a media that's rum amok. We are paid a salary to fight, as soon as congress gets that into their thick skulls and lets us do our jobs, we will win.

gain total control of the population. its really a mess but you have to get eveyone close to the same page. i really think many of the players want the usa to fail and will keep trying forever until the usa is defeated. maybe the usa will withdraw before the job is done that would be a mistake. i beleive before long we will attack iran along with israel. and this war will become larger read the bible russia and china want us to fail. in two years i see a larger war i hope i am wrong but iran is a real problem

so sorry, but there is no military solution to the war in iraq.
the only logical way to win such wars is to not start them.
i want to be very clear that i am talking about the war in iraq, not the broader war on terror - which i think iraq is a distraction from at this time.

Bomb the place with millions of biodegradable .22 pistols and let them fight it out for themselves.
Even a 10 year old or an 80 year old can terrorize a terrorist.
.
(When they are all gone, shoot the survivor for genocide).

Oh yeah, the last bullet shoots backwards!

Stop listening to the politicians in Washington who think they know what they're talking about.

It's not our place to be over there if they attack us we can go after the actual people who did it. I don't think there's any hope for us over there in Iraq.
