I agree. The belief that the soul can live separately from the body is neither logical or Biblical. It certainly was not taught by Christ, so by definition it is not a Christian belief in spite of the well know fact that many people who think they are Christian and who call themselves Christians believe the soul lives on after the person dies. Just another pagan lie. It will prove to be the second death of many a lost pseudo christian. Problem is try to convince them they are wrong and they will refuse correction.

Just like memories are "ghost" in your brain, We have spirits in us. We can not think that if we cut someone open, we will see their spirit lying there. That is crazy! The spirit is something all it's own, not a personality.
Love can not be seen with the naked eye, but it is possible too. Do not generalize something you know nothing about. You assume because it is not in the brain it does not exist, but that makes an "***-u-me."

God never said your brain or heart would do anything other than turn back into dust in which it was created from. Nonetheless our Spirit can only live in the presence of the Lord. Our spirit is who we are. We are all spiritual beings and have been since the breath of God has been breathed into us. We may not fully understand Gods ways or fully understand how He does what he does.
But Man can't explan many many many things of this world even today, yet just because man can't explain it, doesn't mean it isn't true.

Well, you are correct. Fortunately for us, that is not a Biblical doctrine. It is a pagan teaching, originally from Platonic philosophy, which was drawn into Christian teachings centuries after Christ. The Bible teaches the totality of the human being as inanimate dust assembled into an animated body. This unity is what "soul" means in Biblical usage; soul should not be read as a ghostlike, immaterial entity. That is simply unbiblical. The Bible preserves this definition even in its considerations of the afterlife and resurrection, but sadly those have been forgotten by pastors long blinded by tradition and Platonic or Cartesian dualism.

All an atheist can conceive of is what they can see or touch. That doesn't mean that other factors aren't real. Radiation can't be felt or seen but if you take too much you will die.. Tell me what is the physical difference between a live person a minute before they die and a dead person a minute after they die? I say that difference is the spirit that lives on after death... Jim

I have no idea how the soul separates from the body at death. There are many theories to this; however, none can be proven.
Every spiritual soul is immediately created by God. It is not produced by the parents. We understand from the Bible that the soul is also immortal. It does not perish when it separates from the body at death and it will be reunited with the body at the final Resurrection.
Have a nice day

The soul is not made up of material that which we can see, it is only when it is exists in our bodies, that we see it. The souls itself is a free entity which uses the human faculties of brain, the heart the limbs etc for our bodies to function. Our bodies are only needed for this material world we do not carry our material body into the next world. it is our souls which leaves our bodies carrying with it our good and bad deeds.
once we die the soul is once again free and is able to transcend into either heaven or hell or anywhere really.

It's evident you don't fully understand the miracle of the Resurrection. We have all been promised that when Christ reigns at His second coming that the body and the spirit will be reunited. It's literal and one of the greatest promises given...even to those that don't believe...but the blessings associated with those that do believe will be so much greater than those who do not believe.

Your soul is your spirit, and that is what leaves to go to heaven or hell. Your body goes into the ground. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord if you have Jesus in your heart.
