I just got a trial pair of contacts this week. They have become comfortable, but my vision is foggy with them. Putting drops in my eyes clears my vision for a while, but I still feel like I'm walking in a fog or a fire most of the time.

Is this normal?

If it is, when does it get better?

I believe they are toric 30 day wear contacts - they are the kind you don't have to take out at night (although I do).

It is not normal! Comfort and clear vision should go together. Return to your doctor with the contacts in and request an over-refraction

Sounds like you may have very dry eyes. Without that moisture, the contact lenses don't work well.

Talk to the optometrist that gave you the trial pair. Usually after wearing them for a week, they will check your eyes again and see how they are.

Usually, people who wear contacts will indicate that their vision is clearer and brighter and things look larger than they did when they were wearing glasses. Part of getting used to contact lenses is due to the fact you now have a new point of focus for your vision. With glasses, the lenses were about a centimeter or so away from your eyes. Now with contact lenses, the focus is right next to your eyes. The focal point changes.

it shouldn't be foggy at all, maybe its the wrong fit for your eye. maybe you could go to your eye doctor and see what he/she says.
